High School Musical on Ice is hitting the US by Blizzard!
The hit Disney Channel movie “High School Musical” is now touring the country on the ice rink! A spin-off from the success of its two movies, High School Musical on Ice’s choreography is a beautiful transformation into great ice skating moves and pirouettes. The lovable characters of Gabriella, Troy, Chad and Sharpay will once again capture everyone’s fascination—this time on ice!
Although the dancing floor has been set on ice, the common audience, the teens, are not usually around to see the skating skills presented on the ice rink. They’ve come to enjoy the common fondness they have for the movies, the songs and the dancing. They’ve come to sing along with every word of every song, which at present are guaranteed to be engraved on their minds.
The skating in High School Musical on Ice is perfectly pleasurable and entertaining. The authenticity of the skating would probably be enjoyed both by the kids and the adults. In the choreography, Chucky Klapow, also a choreographer for two Disney Channel hits, tried to keep the arm movements the same, but the footwork is minutely changed to adapt to the ice. Klapow was put on board to help protect the integrity of the movie. The choreography was presented accurately from film to ice.
Although it seems difficult to imagine the accurate and authentic image on High School Musical on Ice, the cast and crew have conjured the obstacles to develop a more integrated and genuine presentation. Some of the solutions to a few of their problems: A slew of them fall to the rink for the catchy "Get'cha Head in the Game”. The ice’s smooth surface also featured the bathing suit beauties in Sharpay's "Fabulous" as they glide around on inflatable pool floats in High School Musical on Ice.
The High School Musical on Ice is part of the huge high school musical franchise, which has included a concert tour, a current stage show and a wide merchandising blitz. The movie has also helped lift Disney's licensing sales. And a huge part of that help is due to the fact that Disney expects retail sales related to franchises that is targeted on hitting kids aged between 9 and 14. A whooping $400 million worldwide sales is expected this fiscal year.
The High School Musical on Ice cast and production features skating stars that include Olympic & World Championship competitors, National Champions from around the world, and a host of professional ice skating elite. The skaters are not part of the cast from the original movie.
Ice shows were usually just a simple presentation with skating mascots, Cardboard houses, or a couple of people wearing big bright colored wigs playing fake instruments about 25 to 30 years ago. For anyone going to High School Musical on Ice, but hadn't seen one of these ice rink productions in 25 or 30 years may encounter some culture and sensory shock so great that they may have nervous breakdown. The production values makes use of a drive-in-size video screen, a lot of metal and plastic props, and a lot of other technologies used in changing the rink into baseball fields, a golf course, basketball court and several other memorable background settings used in the movie.
